J-E-L-L-O!

Sometimes, while I am upstairs putting away laundry or something, Vivi wheedles treats out of Daddy (just wait--if you come to our house and hear "crak-ah" she's begging you for a grahm cracker).

The other day I found them in the kitchen sharing a Jello-cup (disgusting.  why was this even in our house?).  Caught in the act!

For those of you who are not aware, I HATE Jello.  A lot.  It really grosses me out.  Vivi does not share this distaste, apparently.

For her, it was like wiggily orange crack.  I don't think Russ really got to "share" the Jello, actually.

Sometimes, it shocks me that our tastes are so dissimilar.  GROSS, VIVI.

Birds! Tweet tweet tweet!

...that's basically all our neighbors hear every time we go outside.  Vivi LOVES birds.  And by "loves" I mean "is pretty much obsessed with."

So, while I was making coffee this morning (necessary, in order to be a functioning individual), Russ and Vivi were out inspecting the early morning "fly-bys."

It is absolutely my favorite way to start the day.

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles...

What better way to relax in the evening than a soothing bubble bath?

Hm.  Perhaps soothing is the wrong word...maybe I should have gone with "tasty?"

Hey.  You relax your own way.  Vivi will be chillin' over here with her bubble-beard.  Relaxing!

Sharing

Yes, bat fans, that's right.  Two posts in one day.

I thought I owed August a proper welcome, considering that we're half way through the month and I'm just now blogging.  It has been busy!  Vivi is working VERY HARD on walking.  She's up to about 3 steps on her own now, and then suddenly realizes she's walking and then falls down.  It's kind of hilarious.

She is talking her lips off, picking up new works all the time.  Current favorites are "baby," "Jack-Dog," "Daddy," "Drink," and "Bird."

She's also very in to climbing.  The other day our little Rapunzel climbed the stairs up to her room three times before going to bed.  Apparently Cousin Eva's climbing fanaticism is some long-dormant Carey gene, because our little girl certainly does share it with her.

We are also working very hard on sharing....please observe.

Say there is something on the menu of which you would rather not partake.  Why not share it with dad?  Mom and Dad encourage sharing.  Even of Green Beans.

Then again...even Dad won't eat some things.  Still, sharing is a good skill!

The Rainbow Connection

Vivi really likes bright colors.

She also really likes playing in our tupperware drawers.

It's nice.  We can get some cooking done, and she is learning about colors and shapes.
Or dreaming about using the drawers as a ladder to the counter and all the fascinating objects up there.   Whatever.
